ABOUT

The BLK GRL Metatribe Sistahood is a vibrant, supportive community for Black and Brown women living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Formerly known as the METS Sistahood, this group was led by our beloved sister, Marlena Murphy, before she passed away due to MBC. Marlena was a guiding light in our community, providing strength, love, and advocacy to uplift others facing the same battle. Her leadership and passion for this cause have inspired us to continue her mission.

In loving memory of Marlena, we honor her legacy by ensuring that no Black or Brown woman with metastatic breast cancer ever walks this journey alone. This sisterhood continues to provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support, offering a safe space where every woman can share her story, access resources, and find healing.

"It’s extremely important for breast cancer patients and survivors to have someone that they can talk with to process what they’re experiencing — to talk about life."
